Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has killed a total of 3 Ghanaians in Europe. This was confirmed by The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ms. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey in a press in Parliament.
According to the Minister, two Ghanaians have died in Italy and the other one in Copenhagen, Denmark with one of the deceased aged 69 years.
Since the confirmation of two coronavirus cases in Ghana on 12th March 2020, Ghana has since recorded a total of 7 cases.
President Akufo-Addo has since addressed the nation on the coronavirus situation and measures put in place to prevent the spread in the country.
The President has since suspended flights from countries most hit by the coronavirus and 14 days quarantine for those who return from abroad.
Some other stringent measures include the closure of churches, mosques, schools, burial must be private with a maximum of six people, sports activities and events involving social gatherings are on hold or canceled.
Also, workplaces, offices, clubs, restaurants, bars must ensure a high hygienic environment and provide running water, soap, and hand sanitizers in combating the coronavirus.
