Accra, Ghana – Tuesday, July 1, 2020, https://africanpostonline.com/ 39 Nigerians arrested and detained have been released from Ghana.
The Nigerian government facilitated the release of the Nigerians who illegally tried to enter Ghana through the Aflao border according to the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM.
“The Nigerian consular team was dispatched by the High Commission to intervene immediately.
“On getting there we met with about 30 more Nigerians who were arrested for also trying to enter Ghana through illegal routes due to the border closure.” They wrote.
The Nigerian consular team has appealed to Ghana immigration officials to enable the stranded Ghanaians to evacuate them instead of being prosecuted.
“However, it should be noted that 11 of the detainees have escaped, according to Ghanaian Immigration.
