Management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) says it has posted 84,478 persons to undergo their national service for 2020/2021.

This was contained in a press release signed by the Executive Director of the NSS Hon. Mustapha Ussif.

It said the posted personnel had to check the placement centres in the scheme’s website before proceeding to register online.

The Scheme said that “all eligible national service personnel are therefore requested to log onto the scheme’s website, on www.nss.gov.gh to check their placements and then proceed to the various user agencies to endorse their appointment letters, before they book appointments online for registration and validation at designated centresin the regions.

The registration and validation period “would begin at all centres across the country from Thursday, September 3, 2020”.

The service is however expected to commence on Monday, September 7, 2020.

The scheme further asked personnel dispelled to educational institutions to hold on until schools resume.

“Service personnel deployed to educational institutions are directed to hold on with their registration and validation until schools officially re-open”, said Mr. Ussif.

It added that the move was being “implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic directives and is intended to prevent large gathering of national service personnel at registration centres”.
