ACCRA, Ghana – Wednesday, May 27, 2020,/ https://africanpostonline.com/—Zambian Minister of Health, Hon Dr Chitalu Chilufya has tested positive for COVID-19. A report confirmed by the Zambian local news and posted on twitter.
According to local news, Dr Chitalu Chilufya is the second cabinet member in Zambia to be infected with Covid-19 after the Information Minister and government spokesperson Dora Siliya.
The Health Minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya has been active with the covid-19 situation in Zambia and had joined world leaders and Health experts for a virtual meeting due to Covid-19.
Covid-19 cases in Zambia stands at 1,057, with 7 deaths, 779 recoveries and 271 active Covid-19 cases. Zambia carried out 4,264 tests which resulted in the confirmation of 137 new cases as 443 patients were discharged from Isolation Centers in the country in the last 5 days.
However, some Zambians took to twitter to express their disbelieve that the Minister is infected with Covid-19, having believed that the Minister who is being investigated for corruption by the Anti Corruption Commission might be using COVID-19 as an excuse to avoid or delay the investigation.
