Ghana: Ministry of Health to recruit nurses, midwives and physician assistants

ACCRA, Ghana – Wednesday, June 17, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—The Ministry of Health, Ghana, release a press statement to announce the recruitment of physician assistants and 2017 referral nurses and midwives who registered with the medical and dental council between 2015 to 2019.

The statement indicates that recruitment into the service will commence on 24 of June, Wednesday 2020 at 12 pm.
The Ministry is requesting that qualified applicants apply before the deadline on Friday 10th July 2020 at 6 pm.

Ghana has seen an exponential increase in covid-19 cases which automatically means more medical staff are needed to support front line workers.

Ghana has over the years been unable to address the issue of few doctors and nurses in the country and a policy plan to ensure nurses and doctors don’t remain unemployed.

Some medical practitioners and health staff have been infected with COVID-19.

Ghana has confirmed a total of 12,590 COVID-19 cases with 4,410 recoveries and 66 deaths as of today 17th June 2020.
According to the Ghana Health Service, Ghana has recorded 397 new Cases. The active cases stand at 8,114.
