ACCRA, Ghana – Wednesday, June 24, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Abdul Malik Kweku Baako says former President Jerry John Rawlings is a great social being but it is his style of politics he disagrees with.

Speaking on Peace FM’s morning show korkorko on Wednesday Kweku Baako said “ It is his politics I detest but he is a fantastic social being, his personality and his sense of humour, you cannot take that away from him. If you are with him or have known him and his sense of humour, you would like him. Perhaps politics was not good for him.”

Kweku Baako in analysing the NPP primaries and issues of vote buying revealed that the problem of political party financing dates back to the early 1960s. He noted that lot of money is spent during political parties primaries and the general election and the source of funding is always being questioned.

“We are talking about millions of dollars across the political divide and some political parties must not pretend that this is unprecedented. I believe we must look at the bigger picture and ask questions in relation to various political parties guidelines on this issue together with the Representation of the people’s law 1992, section 33. We cannot tackle what happens only at party primaries to solve this challenge. Our approach must be comprehensive, sincere and honest about it, the phenomenon, its roots and dynamics. All political parties have questions to answer. This propelled the idea for the state to fund political parties not as a complete solution but as a measure to lessen the threat of vote-buying.”

Kweku Baako is known to have major disagreements with former president Rawlings in relation politics but he said it would be so unfair to use his birthday to criticize the former president.
