ACCRA, Ghana – Thursday, June 25, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—Prof. Mrs Rita Akosua Dickson has been appointed the Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on June 25, 2020, with effect from 1st. August 2020 to July 31, 2024.
Prof. Mrs Rita Akosua Dickson appointment was announced in a press release signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, A.K Boateng of KNUST.
Prof. Mrs Rita Akosua Dickson was the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University before her new appointment.
She is a professor of Pharmacognosy and the first woman to be appointed as Vice-Chancellor in KNUST.
The Ghanaian phytochemist is a board member of the Pharmacy Council and Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana.
Prof. Mrs Rita Akosua Dickson graduated from the KNUST with a bachelor degree in pharmacy in 1994 where she continued with her MParm at the same university in pharmacognosy in 1999.
She proceeded to the United Kingdom to pursue a PhD at Kings’ College London, University of London on winning a Commonwealth Scholarship in 2003.
