Corruption, however small or big is an obstacle in the workings of a system or better still a deficiency to a growing or developing country. It hinders or dwarf’s economic growth of the country as compared to others.
It negatively affects business dealings such as employment, investments and profitmaking. Four years ago, before being elected into power, H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo promised to actively deal with waves of corruption rampaging through our country.
He promised that government official and civil servants who engaged in corruption will be punished, that his government will be full of capable personnel and not just family and friends and that he will fast-track development projects.
Four years has almost ended, and sadly most Ghanaians feels that none of these promises has been fully realized and even if they have, it is not visible enough.
It is therefore not surprising to see that the hashtag #AkufoAddoIsCorrupt trending on twitter yesterday on social media, specifically Twitter.
