The ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for leading a revolution for the restructuring of the country.
APC said the current President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has commenced the implementation of the 2014 national confab report.
It was revealed by the ruling party’s September edition of “The Progressives”, which its monthly journal published in collaboration with the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Vanguard reports.
The ruling party also revealed that the move is to recognise the efforts put in place by the administration of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan which facilitated the national conference in 2014.
APC said the implementation has addressed ranging issues raised by a wide call for the restructuring of the country, saying President Buhari is leading a real revolution towards restructuring Nigeria.
“It must be said that the calls for restructuring by many partisans are often time a populist and opportunistic ploy to latch on and politically exploit simplistic public narratives on the panacea to Nigeria’s problems and not necessarily for its realism and practicability. “President Muhammadu Buhari has evidently and progressively begun restructuring the country in line with the 2015 election promise to ensure true federalism and devolution of powers,” part of the statement read.
APC also criticized Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and accused them “of dubiously using selective and bespoke restructuring rhetoric for specific audiences during their campaigns.”
The President expressed his belief on Thursday, August 13, during the virtual commissioning of the Nigerian Content Tower, a project of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in partnership with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), in Bayelsa.
“I strongly believed that local production and patronage of Nigerian made goods and services will empower citizens and give them viable opportunities to excel, ” Buhari explained.
