Barcelona to Release Luis Suarez

The new Coach of Barcelona, Ronald Koeman, reportedly has had the talk with the striker, Suarez revealing to him that he is not in his plans for the new Barcelona.

The titans of Spain ended their La Liga campaign last season by losing the trophy to their rivals, Real Madrid. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, their Champions League campaign ended with an embarrassing 8-2 defeat at the hands of the German Champions and now Champions League winners, FC Bayern Munich.

Former Everton Coach, Ronald Koeman has now taken over the club from Quique Setien and is making effort to shake things up and restore Barcelona to the standard of the name it has made for itself over the years. This effort, apparently, includes telling the 33-year-old striker, Suarez that he has no future in the Barcelona he wants to create.

Suarez still has one year left on the contract he signed with Barcelona but it is said that the club is making a move to write it off and offer him a free transfer to another club. The Club has plans to meet with the lawyers of Suarez in order to attempt to terminate his contract with the team. It’d be impossible for Suarez to stay even as a substitute, looking at the current state of the Barcelona finances.

It is unclear now as to where the striker will go but such development has attracted the attention of Liverpool fans, who have shared their thoughts on Social Media as to whether they should take Suarez back. He left Liverpool in 2014 to join Barcelona after appearing 110 times for the side and scoring 69 goals. For Barca, he has appeared 191 times, scoring 147 goals for the Spanish team. And he has won 4 La Liga titles since he signed for Barcelona.
