Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson is said to have arrived in Ghana for the Year of Return event and ahead of her daughter Beyonce.
She was spotted with her family at the Kotoka International Airport as she danced to the tune of drums upon her arrival in Ghana. It is asserted that she would be attending the AfroNation concert scheduled to take place in Accra.
Beyonce’s mother is a businesswoman and fashion designer known for her House of Deréon and Miss Tina fashion brands.
The Year of Return, Ghana 2019 is an initiative of the government of Ghana intended to encourage African diasporans to come to Africa (specifically Ghana) to settle and invest in the continent. Its year, 2019, is symbolic, as it commemorates 400 years since the first enslaved Africans touched down in Jamestown, Virginia in the United States.
