Bishop Obinim facing criminal prosecution for publication of false news and forgery of document

ACCRA, Ghana – Wednesday, May 20, 2020,/ https://africanpostonline.com/—Controversial pastor, Bishop Obinim has been arrested yesterday 19, May 2020 by the Ghana police for publication of false news and forgery of a document which is an offence under Section 208 and 159 of the Criminal Code of Ghana.

Bishop Obinim is the founder of the International God’s Way Church, located in Accra.

According to the letter sited by African Post Online, Obinim is also under investigation for other crimes brought against him.

Upon his arrest and charges, the Magistrate Court in Accra has been granted a ¢100,000 bail with three sureties to Obinim with one person justify and he must re-appear before the court on June 1, 2020.

However, others also report that Obinim remains in jail for failing to meet the terms of his bail. This was revealed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ms Juliana Obeng, Head of the Public Affairs Unit of CID.

A dispute between Obinim and Kennedy Agyapong, MP of Assin North led to many revelations levelled against him, whereby Kennedy Agyapong vowed publicly to ensure Obinim is jailed for crimes he has committed.
