Burkina Faso confirms its first two cases of coronavirus

The Health Minister of Burkina Faso, Claudine Lougue confirmed two patients, a husband and wife who returned from France infected with the coronavirus.


According to the Minister, the two patients are in isolation.
Burkina Faso is now the seventh country in sub-Saharan Africa affected by the virus.


Togo and Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt, South Africa, and Algeria are currently battling the deadly virus.

Coronavirus was identified by Chinese authorities on January 7, 2020, in Wuhan, China. According to the World Health Organization, the virus has killed at least 3,800 people and infected more than 110,000 worldwide.
