Togo and Cameroon have confirmed cases of the coronavirus, becoming the latest African countries affected after Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria.

According to a report filed by the BBC’s correspondent in Yaounde, Killian Ngala, the Cameroonian patient is a 58-year-old French citizen who arrived in Yaounde on February 24, 2020.

Ghana has tested 46 suspected cases of the deadly virus, which caused public panic but fortunately proved negative.

Coronavirus was identified by Chinese authorities on January 7, 2020, in Wuhan, China. According to the World Health Organization, the total number of cases of coronavirus globally is about 100,000. It has been reported that about 3,400 people have died across the world.
