Earth tremors hit part of Accra, Central and Eastern Regions

ACCRA, Ghana – Thursday, June 25, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—Some parts of Greater Accra, parts of Central and Eastern Region were woken up by earth tremors on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. 

The Earth tremors occurred thrice within 10 minutes from 10:40 pm, recorded at a magnitude of 4.0 – 6 km NW of Gbawe, Ghana (https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/us7000aahp/executive)

Many people took to twitter to confirm if other people also experienced the earth tremor.

Some people felt it twice and others trice. Videos on Twitter show some people running outside in fear of their lives. 

As usual, Ghanaians add humour to everything and couldn’t hold back their funny comments and experience on twitter.

Some residents of Nungua, Lake Side Estate, Achimota, Spintex, Kwashiman, Legon, Kokomlemle, Kasoa, Lapaz, Tantra, Weija, Gbawe, Dome, Ofankor, Kuntunse, Dansoman, Kwabenya, McCarthy Hill, Haatso, Tema Nsawam, Koforidua, Swedru among others experience the earth tremor. 

An earth tremor is a relatively small or short-lived movement of the earth’s surface caused by the same forces that produce earthquakes.
