GHANA- Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson’s movie ‘Fix Us’ started streaming on Netflix on August 2nd, 2020. However, Yvonne lamented over the lack of support from the entertainment industry.
She wrote on Facebook, “INDUSTRY! Learn to love and see your careers/ life change! its EASIER to LOVE”
She also twitted, “woke up this morning just thinking…… I DONT GET WHY INDUSTRY PEOPLE HATE EACH OTHER SO MUCH!!!! Like can you be happy when someone wins? And such wins are actually for GH
Imagine being a blackstar player and hating when another player scores for GH!”
Yvonne added that the one has to tell the other for them to promote their work despite being aware of it or seeing it. She also claims that the entertainment industry is full of hate and jealousy.
Her comments have caused mix-feeling amongst Ghanaians and her fans.
While some people believe that it is a general attitude exhibited everywhere in the world, others believe that the lack of support from folks is peculiar to Ghanaians and is the reason why Ghanaians struggle to succeed in their daily endeavour.
But one interesting thing that is worth noting is some fans reminding Yvonne of not supporting others, thus, she cannot be supported when she doesn’t support others.
The questions many Ghanaians are asking the actress is whether she helps and pushes others as well as her fellow industry players?
Kofi Nketiah replied to her post on Facebook, “We love you. But wen Shirley Frimpong Manso uploaded perfect picture on Netflix u ddnt support her. Try nd open up to others nd dey will help you.
Kelvin Mawunya Ashong added, “People forget there’s blessings in being happy for the success of of another fellow. He who doesn’t celebrate others won’t be celebrated”.
A lady was not kind to Yvonne as she teases, “Apppuuuuu, do unto others what you want them to do unto you. Madam, big mouth did you post Shatta wale’s one-time success with Beyonce? U want others to post you forget waii, the law of KARMA”.
