Astana. September 4. KazTAG – The first application for chemical castration of a pedophile has been registered in Kazakhstan, said Saule Aitapayeva, attorney for children’s rights in Kazakhstan.
“Yes, it has been registered,” she said at the press-conference in the Government of Kazakhstan.
The law which regulates chemical castration of pedophiles was empowered in Kazakhstan since January 1 2018.
Lyazzat Aktayeva, vice minister of health care, said there is an appropriate judicial decision on the first case of castration.
“There has been an application for chemical castration based on the court’s order,” she said.
She did not specify on the city of the application. In general, she said, over 9 mln tenge for over 2000 injections have been allocated for chemical castration in Kazakhstan.
