Former Vice- President of Nigeria's son tests positive for coronavirus

The influential presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 election and former Vice- president of Nigeria under Olusegun Obasanjo, Atiku Abubakar, has announced that his son tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).

He breaks the sad news on his Twitter handle on Sunday evening.

He also stated that the @NCDCGov (Nigeria Centre for Disease Control) has been duly informed, and his son has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management.

He also called for prayers for his son and asked that everyone stay safe because coronavirus is real.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed that as at 05:28 pm on the 22nd of March, there were 30 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with three new cases of COVID-19 identified in Lagos.

According to The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, 2 affected victims are Nigerians who traveled and returned and one is a contact of a confirmed case. Two affected coronavirus victims were treated and discharged. Nigeria has not recorded any coronavirus related death.
