ACCRA, Ghana – Tuesday, June 23, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—A letter from The Accra Technical University, formerly known as Accra Poly, confirms a reported case of covid-19.
According to the school, the patient is national service personnel in an academic department. As protocol demands, the patient is isolated at a medical facility and is responding to treatment.
A letter signed by the Acting Director Of Public Affairs of the school states that the patient was experiencing symptoms of covid-19 and reported to a medical facility in his neighbourhood. A covid test conducted shows positive and result communicated to the personal on 21st June.
Those who came in contact with the patients are in self-isolation.
They took their samples for laboratory testing, and are awaiting results.
The school has put in measures to provide medical and psychological support for all persons who came into contact with the victim.
On June 15, the government has reopened schools for final year students of universities, colleges, and other tertiary education institutions to enable them to write their final examinations.
