Accra, Ghana – Tuesday, June 30, 2020,/ https://africanpostonline.com/ Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Alan Kyerematen paid a working visit to VW Ghana Assembly Facility in the North Industrial Area of Accra.
Volkswagen was the 1st global automobile company to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Trade and Industry to establish a vehicle assembly plant in Ghana under the Ghana Automobile Manufacturing Development Programme.
According to the Minister, VWGhana is currently producing five VW models in Accra. Some VW pickups assembled in the facility were displayed.
Volkswagen shortened to VW is a German automaker founded in 1937 by the German Labour Front, known for the iconic “Beetle” and headquartered in Wolfsburg. Volkswagen translates to “people’s car” in German.
The group’s biggest market is in China, which delivers 40% of its sales and profits.
