ACCRA, Ghana – Wednesday, June 17, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—A new report from the Disease Surveillance Department, Ghana Health Service indicates that Ghana’s covid-19 cases have increased drastically today and a double-digit percentage pump in Covid-19 deaths overnight causing fear and alarm.
The Ghana Health Service has confirmed a total of 12,590 COVID-19 cases with 4,410 recoveries and 66 deaths.
According to the report, Ghana has recorded 397 new Cases. The active cases stand at 8,114.
This new figure of 66 deaths today from 58 yesterday is probably the single highest jump in the daily number of covid-19 deaths in the country.
Despite the increasing number of cases, Ghana has eased lockdown and reopen schools and religious activities.
Some argue that the mentality of some leaders and citizens stating that we have to live with the virus instead of eradicating it is illogical.
Many Ghanaians are afraid of the exponential increase in covid-19 cases and believe the measures put in place aren’t working. Some are calling on the government to roll out plan B and change the living with the virus mentality.
Ghanaians are advised to adhere to the protocols of wearing a face mask, washing hands with soap and water as well as sanitizing hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
