Gregory Wüthrich, the Swiss-born Ghanaian defender has made his for the Austrian team, Sturm Graz in a pre-season friendly last Saturday against Czech club SFC Opava; a match that ended in a draw. Gregory played the entire 90 minutes.
He left the A-League side, Perth Glory despite the team’s attempt to keep a player of his calibre. Perth Glory was keen on offering the young player a fresh deal, though he declined, saying he would not return to Australia for the remaining games when football resumes.
Gregory is a youth exponent from BSC Young Boys. He made his Swiss Super League debut at 2 February 2014 against FC Thun in 2–1 home win.
He made 8 league appearances during the 2013–14 season. After making a total of 15 appearances, 9 of those being in the league, during the 2014–15 season, Wüthrich left Young Boys to join fellow Swiss Super League side Grasshopper Club Zürich on loan on 24 February 2015.
He made his club debut on 1 March versus St. Gallen. Wüthrich signed for A-League club Perth Glory on 18 September 2019 and on 7 August 2020, he signed for Sturm Graz. In addition, he was part of the Bern championship team in each of the past three seasons.
Gregory made his debut seven days after he joined Sturm Graz on a three-year deal as a free agent. The Centre back defensive midfielder last season was played for Australian League side Perth Glory where he appeared 18 times, scoring once.
Gregory was born in Bern, Switzerland on December 14, 1994, to a Ghanaian mother and a Swiss father but he is a youth international for Switzerland. Wüthrich has represented Switzerland at the U20, appearing nine times with no goals and U21, appearing 2 and also with no goals. But is an eligible player for Ghana National Team, the Black Stars.
