GHANA- The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson would have her installed on Saturday, August 1, 2020.
This follows the Governing Council’s appointment of Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson as new Vice-Chancellor of the university in June 2020. Her appointment makes her the first woman to rise to this position in the history of the university.
Before she was appointed Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson served as the pro-vice-chancellor of KNUST.
In October 2018 she serves as the acting Vice-Chancellor when then Vice-Chancellor Professor Obiri Danso was asked to step aside temporarily following students’ agitations and violence on the university campus.
Before she was appointed the pro-vice-chancellor, professor (Mrs.) Dickson served as the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in KNUST.
Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson holds a PhD and a Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (GCAP) from king’s college, London.
