Adding to the list of international celebrities visiting Ghana for the Year of Return happens to be the Grammy award winner and superstars, Beyonce and her husband Jay Z. Their daughter Blue Ivy was not left out as she accompanied her parents.
Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson has already arrived in Ghana yesterday as well for the Year of Return event.
Some of the Hollywood celebrities who visited Ghana for the Year of Return include Boris Kodjoe and wife Nicole Ari Parker, Lupita Nyongo, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Cardi B, TI and wife Tiny Harris amongst others.
The Year of Return, Ghana 2019 is an initiative of the government of Ghana intended to encourage African diasporans to come to Africa (specifically Ghana) to settle and invest in the continent. Its year, 2019, is symbolic, as it commemorates 400 years since the first enslaved Africans touched down in Jamestown, Virginia in the United States.
