The Ghanaian movie industry will be given yet another boost when Ghanaian – Caribbean film, Joseph, is shown across the US this month.

This is the first time a Ghanaian -Caribbean production has received major mainstream theatrical release in the US.

AMC, which owns over 1000 theatres with over 11,000 screens in America and Europe, is by far the largest theatre chain in the world.

Joseph tells the dramatic story of a successful young doctor in Jamaica, haunted by childhood memories of his beloved grandfather in Accompong, the Maroon village founded by runaway slaves.

Despite the family conflict caused by Joseph’s curiosity about his Ashanti origins and the death of Kweku, his close friend from Ghana, Joseph is determined to travel to West Africa and discover his true identity.
