GHANA- The Member of Parliament for the Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has cut sod at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra
for the construction of an 80-bed Cardiothoracic Centre, a promise he has decided to fulfil.
In 2020, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong promised to build a Cardiothoracic Centre when he donated some items to the 37 Military Hospital during the outbreak of covid-19 in Ghana.
The 80-bed Cardiothoracic Centre when completed will have three operating theatres, a Dialysis Unit, a Robotic Unit, a pharmacy, a VVIP clinic, X-Ray unit, an Intensive Care Unit, an outpatient department, a Cardiothoracic Training Centre and Conference room, and an Executive Clinic amongst others.
The MP recognise the efforts made by the 37 Military hospital staff in delivering quality health care to Ghanaians, thus, decided to equip the hospital to enable efficiency without any constraints.
The project will be the first of its kind in the treatment of cardiovascular and heart-related diseases in Ghana.
The well-known businessman also thanked the staff for sacrificing their lives to fight covid-19 as well as the Ghana Armed forces for their consistent contribution to Ghana. He added that this is just the beginning of greater things to come.
Seth Amoama, Chief of Defence Staff acknowledged Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s gift to Ghana and said its an immense contribution to Ghana’s healthcare delivery.
