GHANA- Friday, July 17, 2020,/ https://africanpostonline.com/ John Orji, involved in the famous kidnapping Takoradi girls case alleged that the prisons were not giving him enough food and claims he is asthmatic and need to eat well.
John Orji was arrested from around Togo last year for his involvement in the Takoradi girls case told the Sekondi High Court on Wednesday.
“My handlers are not taking care of my health. I’m asthmatic and the medicine I’m being given requires adequate food, but I’m not getting that,”
Udoetuk Wills and Orji also alleged that they had no legal representation and presiding judge, Justice Adjei-Frimpong assert on them getting legal representation and confirm that he would support by writing to Legal Aid.
Four girls in Takoradi were kidnapped in 2018 and have not been found. They are Ruth Abakah, 19 years was kidnapped on July 29, 2018,
Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21 was also kidnapped on August 17, 2018,
Ruth Love Quayeson 18, kidnapped on December 4, 2018, and Priscilla Mantseabea Koranchie, 15 years was the youngest kidnapped on December 21, 2018.
On August 2 Ghana police stormed the house of Samuel Udotek Wills and retrieved human remains from a septic tank behind his house. DNA results on the body parts were confirmed by the Ag. Inspector-General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh to be those of the Takoradi girls. However, the family of the girls refused to accept that the body parts belong to their missing girls.
The case was adjourned to July 29, 2020.
