Nigeria confirms second coronavirus case

Nigeria has confirmed a second Coronavirus case, according to the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire.
The victim currently in isolation had contact with the Italian reported having brought coronavirus to Nigeria.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control tweeted, “This second case is a contact of the index case, in Ogun State. “The new case has been in isolation and was tested as part of our strategy to test all contacts of the index case.”

Togo and Cameroon have confirmed cases of the coronavirus, becoming the latest African countries affected after Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and South Africa.

Coronavirus was identified by Chinese authorities on January 7, 2020, in Wuhan, China. According to the World Health Organization, the total number of cases of coronavirus globally is about 101,000. It is reported that about 3,400 have died across the world.
