ACCRA, Ghana – Saturday, June 20, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Obour has lost in the NPP primaries held on Saturday, June 20.
The Former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), represents the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asante Akyem South [Juaso] constituency in the Ashanti Region.
However, he polled 296 votes after the winner, Kwaku Asante Boateng who won with 360 votes.
Eric Amofa polled 8 votes, William Yamoah polled 32, Edmond Oppong Peprah polled 9.
Obour was openly challenged by some musicians and celebrities who condemned him for being unfit to be a parliamentarian due to allegations of corruption and incompetency during his tenure as the president of the Musicians Union of Ghana.
Musician D Black and blogger Criss Waddle urged delegates not to elect him. Obour was also criticised by many Ghanaians over his father’s death from covid-19 at the Ridge Hospital when for failure to disclose his father’s travel history, thereby causing health workers at the hospital to be infected.
Obour was accused of not practicing social distancing at his fathers funeral as well.
