ACCRA, Ghana – Tuesday, June 9, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—The government of Burundi has sadly announced the demise of President Pierre Nkurunziza. According to a statement issued on Tuesday, he is said to have died of a heart attack.
President Pierre Nkurunziza was reported to have been admitted to the hospital on Saturday 6th June after feeling unwell. It is reported that his condition improved but he had cardia arrest and passed on.
He was 55 years.
Health CAS, Dr Mercy Mwangangi said, “I can confirm that Kenya has one of the best health care systems but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will issue a statement on her status and whether such privileges will be extended to other Kenyans,” she said.
Late last month, Burundi’s First Lady Denise Nkurunziza was airlifted to Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, after she reportedly contracted the novel coronavirus.
