GHANA- The Ministry of Health released a press statement indicating that public covid-19 testing is now free to all Ghanaians except travellers.
The letter signed by the Acting Chief Director, Kwabena Boadu Oku-Afari further stated that other walk-in request such as ill-health, contact tracing and exposure must be free-of-charge using public resources.
These are interventions after a call by the public regarding the high cost of testing for covid-19.
In curbing the spread of Covid-19, testing and tracing are critical aside protocols such as washing hands, wearing masks, social distancing and sanitizing.
Ghana has recorded 62,751 covid-19 cases, 58,561 recoveries and 377 deaths.
