The latest update of Samsung’s Find My Mobile feature is now available on Galaxy devices which aren’t connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data connection. The application is a handy tool that helps users find a lost phone.

This new feature is similar to the “Community Find” feature which Tile trackers use when they are out of Bluetooth range. The latest update of the app will leverage a network of nearby Galaxy devices. However, if the user’s phone cannot be found by Wi-Fi or cellular connection, any nearby Galaxy device may be able to locate it.

Once the user enables the offline finding feature, their phone will also be able to scan for other devices meaning, the user can help others find their lost phones as soon as they get into the range of the item or find watches and earbuds that have been used recently.

Samsung Galaxy users can now be at ease with this new and handier feature. The feature isn’t enabled by default. Users can enable and disable it in their settings as well as encrypt their offline location if you’re worried about privacy.

Although this new development can be a relief for users, it is uncertain which kind of technology community network will use or the specific watches and earbuds the feature can find. To address this issue, Samsung says, it is looking into it.

Samsung has since been sending out push notifications to Galaxy owners once they receive the latest Find My Mobile update. You can tap that notification to open the “offline finding” page in settings, where you can toggle the feature on and off.
