ACCRA, Ghana – Saturday, June 20, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—The Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo has won the NPP Primaries at Dome-Kwabenya in Greater Accra on Saturday 20 June 2020.
The tightly contested election saw Adwoa Safo beating her competitor, Mike Oquaye Jnr with only eight votes. Adwoa Safo won with 496 votes while Oquaye Jnr lost with 488 votes.
Adwoa Safo stated, “It is God who crown kings and this victory means everything to me.”
Mike Oquaye Jnr, son of the Speaker of Parliament and Ghana’s Commissioner to India, wrote, “I have fought a good fight. I did not win the race. I lost by eight votes – Lawyer Mike Ocquaye Jnr”.
