Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo tests negative after second COVID-19 test

GHANA- Monday, July 20, 2020,/ https://africanpostonline.com/ The Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, has tested negative for the coronavirus after undergoing a voluntary test on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Honourable Osafo Maafo tested positive for COVID-19 after coming into contact with an infected person.

At a news conference on Sunday, the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah disclosed the minister’s health status saying, “He was doing well from home”.

His status was disclosed by the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah at a news conference in Accra on Sunday.

“Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Maafo you recall instructed us to announce his positivity to the country a couple of weeks ago. He has taken a voluntarily test again and he wants me to update you that his test on Thursday turned negative”.

This development comes at a time when the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has also resumed his official duties after going into a 14 day isolation.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah also disclosed at the press conference that the President will “attend to business from his office at the Jubilee House” starting today, Monday 20 July. President Akuffo-Addo is also to attend some engagements outside Accra within the week.

The President went into a 14 day self-isolation as a precautionary measure after being exposed to a person who tested positive for Coronavirus. Although the results of his first samples came out negative, the President engaged in official duties from the Presidential Villa during the isolation period.
