The first time I came across Young- Sung Kim’s paintings, I took a deep breath with eyes wide open to determine if I was looking at a real staff or a picture.
Glued to his Instagram page for minutes, I scrolled through his unbelievable hyperrealism paintings in amazement.
Kim’s photorealism paintings are not for the poor as his prices range from the least amount of about $20,000 to as high as $110,000 and above. A hyperrealism painting like this will involve time, resources and energy.
Kim is a South Korean ice sledge hockey player who played in the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games. The 36 years old hyperrealism artist mostly paints animals that look too real to be true.
He also won a silver medal at the 2012 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships and a member of South Korea’s bronze medal-winning team in para ice hockey at the 2018 Winter Paralympics.
