When you’re trying to get your health back on track, there are many ways to detox your way to feeling better. The best way to flush out toxins, however, is simple: lots and lots of water. But you don’t have to drink it plain; you can add a little flavour as well with these delicious (and detoxifying) additions.
I drink it first thing in the morning.
The lemon and ginger in this water recipe are great for boosting your immune system and cleaning out harmful toxins.
Cucumber is an anti-inflammatory and helps you to stay hydrated. Mint sweetens your drink without adding sugar and aids in digestion.
Included:
Watermelon/cucumber, lemon/lime, mint leaves, ginger and water.
-1-2 litres’ of water at room temperature, depending on how strong you want it to taste
-Part of 1 cucumber
-1 lemon or lime
-½ inch knob of fresh ginger root
-A handful of fresh mint leaves (approximately 10-13)
Directions
Let this sit overnight in the fridge and let all the flavours steep and infuse the water.
Enjoy daily.
You can also add watermelon, strawberry or aloe vera.
