GHANA- Friday, July 31, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/– Second-year student gold track student of Oyoko Methodist Senior High School has passed away during an examination.
The student whose identity is still unknown was a General Arts students and passed away while writing Literature in English exams yesterday.
The student was pronounced dead on arrival at the St. Joseph Hospital.
Sources say that the student had taken ill three days prior to the death and was only receiving treatment at the school’s infirmary.
Second year Gold track students were asked by the President Nana Akufo Addo to return to school to complete the semester. This was in line with the president’s easing of restrictions.
In a joint statement released by the Ghana Health Service and the Ghana Education Service, measures have been outlined to the second-year students who are vacating today.
The statement contained directives to schools that had recorded cases of COVID-19 and schools that had not recorded any stating that schools that have not recorded any cases in the past two weeks can close whiles schools that have recorded cases in the past two weeks would have to wait for a period of observation.
Schools that have not recorded any case can however go for the planned vacation today.
