ACCRA, Ghana – Thursday, June 4, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—Some Africans on the continent joined the USA in fighting racism with the recent killing of George Floyd leading to protest and a call for justice.
Becca took to Twitter to comment on the issue. She wrote, “You are here in Africa fighting and advocating racism in the US but in your church/home, you are criticizing and judging someone for marrying a fellow African because they are not from your hometown/country/church… Damn Hypocrites!!!”
Some fans and celebrities disliked her comment and express shock. However, some trolls quickly pulled out her old picture with darker skin and compared with a recent one showing Becca looking lighter in complexion.
In light of this, some hilariously wrote that she is now ‘white’, and not black since she has allegedly bleached so they least expect her to fight for black people.
Becca probably made the comment out of her personal experience. When the musician married her Nigerian husband, some people express some form of disappointment and wonder why she didn’t marry a Ghanaian.
It is an open secret that there is tribalism in our communities.
However, some people believe that the fact that there is tribalism in marriages in Africa does not stop Africans from fighting against racism and police brutality in the USA and around the world.
Becca has been advised to champion her course in the fight against tribalism but should not belittle people’s effort against racism!
Becca has responded by stating that people should not take the post out of context.
Some Africans including African leaders have joined in the fight against racism in the USA amidst the killing of George Floyd by police officers which has led to protests and a call to end racism and the killing of blacks in America.
