Gilbert Koomson, the Ghanaian midfielder has become a father to a beautiful baby girl as his girlfriend, Kamilla Isabell has given birth. She posted on Instagram, “God has given me the best daughter and boyfriend. I’m so, so proud of them”.

Koomson, who plays for SK Brann in Norway was said to have been ready to play and lead his team against Mjøndalen in their Eliteserien clash for victory on Sunday after his girlfriend safely delivered his baby last Friday. The 25-year-old, however, played full throttle for the Red and Whites but could not crown his day with a goal as Mjøndalen defeated them 1-0 at the Brann Stadion.

“It’s a great feeling. I have great respect for Kamilla and all the other mothers in the world. I saw with my own eyes how tough it is to carry and give birth to a child. The baby’s name is EmiliaKoomson, writes a proud father in an SMS to BA. Koomson posted the good news on Instagram Sunday morning.

“God bless you for all the pain you have been through. I have extra respect for all the moms in the world. For what I saw today … I cannot even explain it. You’re the toughest and bravest girl I’ve ever met.”

Koomson went into European Football after he signed for Sogndal in Norway. After two seasons, Koomson moved on to sign for Brann, where he has played since 2018; making a total of 67 appearances for the team. He has scored eight goals in 13 games for Brann this year, and is the top scorer for the club.Internationally, Koomson was called to represent his country for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, a match against Uganda in October 2016. His debut for Ghana was against South Africa in the same year.
