ACCRA, Ghana – Tuesday, May 26, 2020,/ https://africanpostonline.com/ — I cannot forget the experience I had in London and Scottland when we wore African print style to an event. Since then, I never travel without wearing African Print style. It gave us a sense of identity and pride as we were celebrated. We were astonished.

It was a life-changing moment for me the day I travelled to London and Scottland with some friends and we were celebrated for wearing colourful African print designs

Many of the British and Scottish came out of their shops and offices to wave at us. Some also took pictures with us and others asked of our origin, the styles and meaning of the print.

The stir and attraction of such designs when worn expresses charm and personal belonging as an African especially when worn abroad.

It was then obvious to us that African print styles have influence and the power of identity than we could imagine. I never travel again without African Print style. I proudly display the African print style with pride and happiness.

Many Africans are appreciating African print designs for any occasion than ever before, and Africans are now moving away from all-weather Western wear. Colourful African wax print, design and styles is a symbol of Africa. Many people are boldly adding them to their wardrobe.

With my fashion designer, I can show my design to be sown to fit my shape and desires. Whether GTP, Daviva, Printex, Woodin or Vlisco, all I do is to buy them from the shops.

The African fashion industry is getting bigger and better. Lace and Ankara designs sewn into a fine design has been trending for some time and seems to stay.

African print designs depict images of objects, proverbs, local emblems mostly relating to African traditions be it kingships or designs with educational significance. Some are even customised for special events like anniversaries, weddings, outdoorings and birthdays.
