GHANA- Most Ghanaians and the youth are dissatisfied with the development in the country. In protesting their displeasure and a call to action, #FixGhanaNow, #FixTheCountry started to trend on social media, especially Twitter which has now turn into a national sensation with divided opinions.

#FixGhanaNow, #FixTheCountry activists sought police consent to demonstrate but were denied with the police establishing covid-19 as grounds for refusal stating that the demonstrators are unlikely to adhere to covid-19 protocols.

Aggrieved by the decision of the Ghana Police Service, the group affirmed their decision to seek redress from the High Court to overrule the restraining order granted the Ghana Police Service prohibiting them from demonstrating

“We have been served with an order from the court restraining us from holding ‘FixTheCountry’ protest on Sunday, May 9, 2021.

The activists with the #NameAndShame hashtag on Twitter are naming and shaming political leaders and officers for poor performance.

Some concerns by the group are corruption, unemployment, high standards of living and poor health care delivery amongst others.
