GHANA, Monday, July 27, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/— President Akufo-Addo will from Monday, 27th July 2020 begin a 3- day tour of the Northern, North East and Savanna regions of the country, where he will commission water projects in Northern, North East and Savanna Regions.
The president is expected to commission some projects on this tour, break ground for new projects and visit some traditional authorities.
The second day of the tour will see the president in the North East and Northern regions. He will pay a courtesy call on the Nayiri, overlord of Mamprugu and proceed to commission the Nalerigu water project, cut sod for work to begin on an ultra-modern regional office for the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in Nalerigu, North East regional capital.
President Akufo-Addo will also be in Yendi on Wednesday, July, 29 to pay a courtesy call on the overlord of Dagbon Yaa-Na Mahama Abukari II. He will also cut the sod for the construction of the Yendi water project and then move to Damongo in the Savanna region to the Yagbonwura overlord of the Gonja kingdom and cut the sod for the Damongo water project to begin.
This 3-day working visit of the president to the northern part of the country comes after he addressed the nation on Sunday night further easing restrictions on Churches and tourism sites but still keeping the borders shut.
Nana Akuffo-Addo also announced that tourist sites in Ghana will now be permitted to open, and open-air drinking spots can open with improved hygiene protocols. However, pubs, nightclubs, and cinemas remain closed.
Ghana has confirmed 32,969 covid-19 cases, 29,494 recoveries and 168 deaths.
