Former Manchester United player, Wayne Rooney has openly expressed his view on superstar, Lionel Messi potential move to the Premier League and has named Bruno Fernandes and Kevin de Bruyne as one of the Premier League stars to push Messi toward his seventh Ballon d’Or title.
The 33-year-old player has expressed his desire to move on to another club to continue his career and has requested that they exercise a clause in his contract that would allow him to exit the club free of any charges. The Barcelona Officials, however, maintain the stance that the clause cannot be enacted because it expired on June 10. Therefore, he cannot leave until 2021; when his contract ends. Manchester City is one of the clubs bidding for the four-times Champions League winner and they are believed to have better chances of acquiring the player due to the link between Messi and City’s coach, Pep Guardiola. But it has been reported that Manchester United are interested in the player as well.
United legend, Wayne Rooney in talking this potential move, he mentioned Bruno Fernandes and de Bruyne as key players who could push Messi to win the Ballon d’Or for the seventh time.
“Messi has everything! He can create goals, score goals and dictate the game. And he is the best player of all time”. “He and Christiano Ronaldo have set a standard we won’t ever see again and are a different level”. “If he can come to the Premier League, whichever team it is, Manchester City or Manchester United; I’d take Messi at United”.
“If he surrounds himself with Kevin de Bruyne, with Brune Fernandes, these types of players, he could win a seventh Ballon d’Or”, he said.
