COVID-19: Flights in Rwanda to resume in August

RWANDA- Tuesday, July 14, 2020,/ https://africanpostonline.com/ Rwanda is ready to start airline operations by August 1 after reopening its airspace for international flights last week.

Countries closed their borders amidst covid-19 to prevent the spread of the virus. Also, flights were suspended with some hard-hit with financial crisis and death of some staff from covid-19.

Despite the increasing cases of covid-19 in some countries in Africa, some countries are risking it by opening their borders but with strict caution and adherence to health safety measures.

“We have received updates from a couple of airlines but we are waiting for all of them,” he said, highlighting KLM, Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines, Swapnil Karkhile, the operations manager of Satguru Travels Rwanda office, told The New Times.

Strict health and safety measures put in place at the airport is the presentation of a COVID-19 test certificate carried out in 72 hours before arrival in Rwanda

Another mandatory COVID-19 test to be conducted on all visitors upon arrival at the Kigali International airport of which the passengers will receive their results after 8 hours.

Rwanda has recorded 1,378 covid-19 cases with 710 recoveries and 4 deaths.
