ACCRA, Ghana – Tuesday, June 2, 2020/ https://africanpostonline.com/—Indians are known for long, thick, shining and healthy hair. After reading about how they get such long, healthy, thick and shinning hair, I came across onion as a key component. I was not surprised because they say whatever you eat can be good for your skin and hair.
Onion is said to be used for the treatment of hair loss and alopecia for decades by Ayurveda. The extra sulfur in onion juice supports strong and thick hair as it promotes the production of collagen. It is also proven to enhance hair growth and prevent hair loss.
Out of curiosity, I chose to try onion for my hair. I was amazed at the result.
Ways to use onion juice
There are many ways to use onion for hair. I tried two different methods.
Juicing
One method is to blend the onion, strain the juice and use directly on your scalp. Wait for an hour and wash with shampoo and a conditioner.
The frying method
Cut half a medium-size onion and slice them into pieces. Add the onion in a quarter cup of coconut oil and put on fire. Add dry amla (Indian gooseberry) and fry for 5-7 minutes on the low heat. It will bubble. Wait to cool and add a quarter cup of olive oil.
Now, apply the oil on your scalp using cotton or an applicator.
Wash your hair after an hour.
Mind you onion has a strong smell but you can minimize the smell adding 5 drops of lavender essential oil.
I tried it for two months and noticed that my hair grew longer, stronger, shinning and my dandruff disappeared. I also noticed my hair was darker.
Nature gives us the best for a healthy life and all we have to do is use them to the fullest.
