GHANA- Thursday, July 30, 2020,/ https://africanpostonline.com/– Former World Boxing Organisation (WBO) super-bantamweight champion Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe is set to hit the rings by the end of the year after a 14-month space.

The boxer conceded two defeats to Emanuel Navarrete but bounced back on July 21 to win a fight against Chris Avalos in Las Vegas in eight rounds.

In a media interaction with RingTV, Carl Moretti, Vice-President of Top Rank revealed that the Ghanaian native boxer would fight before the end of the year, however, his opponent has not yet been decided on.

“We haven’t discussed any opponent yet but I can say that he will definitely be in the ring again before the year ends”, he said.

Isaac Dogboe says that he is ready to fight but is not yet certain on whom his opponent is going to be.

“I’m still in fighting shape, I just have to keep the momentum going,” said Dogboe (21-2, 15 knockouts). “I just have to keep familiarizing myself with the weight and in the ring as well. After a long time out of the ring, you get rusty.”

“That’s a decision that has to be taken on by my team,” he said when asked whom he would like to take on next.

Speaking on his defeat against Chris Avalos, he explained that “he was tough, he was tougher than we expected”.

Barry Hunter became Dogboe’s coach in December last year after staying with him for two weeks where he decided to keep him as a coach and inform his father Paul Dogboe of his decision.

The Ghanaian born- British boxer has been active in the world of boxing from 2013 till date.

Dogboe fought Caesar Juarez and claimed the WBO interim junior-featherweight title in a fifth-round stoppage.

Isaac, however, lost his WBO title to Emmanuel Navarrete at the Hulu Theatre in New York City. On May 11 2019, Isaac took on Navarrete again and lost in a twelfth-round technical knockout.
