The American multinational technology company, Microsoft Corporation has appointed a Ghanaian lady in tech, Ivy Barley, as the Programs Manager.
Ivy Barley is the co-Founder and CEO of Developers in Vogue and a guru in coding. Ivy is passionate about supporting and training African women in technology. Her company trains women in tech, which she believes can revolutionize Africa, and beyond.
The tech giant recalls her struggle in KNUST. She remembered how she failed some subjects, was in a state of mental health disarray and sold popcorn at nights to pay for her school fees. A friend also recalled how she used to sell sobolo drinks.
Ivy currently holds an MPhil. in Mathematical Statistics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science and was recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians in 2017.
She tweeted a message of gratitude and inspiration for the opportunity.
