Founder of Accra Film School, Rex-Anthony Annan dead

In a rather heartbreaking way, the Founder and Executive Director of the Accra Film School, Rex-Anthony Annan was killed by a vehicle.

According to reports, he was run over by a Land Cruiser yesterday while he was parked along the Kasoa – Mallam road at Weija near SCC Barrier.

He had stopped to purchase an item by the roadside when the Land Cruiser ran him over.

He was the only casualty of the unfortunate incident.

Before his death, Rex-Anthony had been working to make the Ghana film industry better each passing day.

He came from Marketing Communications professional with vast experience working in media, advertising, public relations, television production and filmmaking.

He is passionate about the use of film in telling stories and preserving our culture. That influenced him to set up the Accra Film School and take on the role of its Executive Director to educate the next batch of talented filmmakers.

His Accra Film School provides certificate courses in Film Directing, Acting, Script Writing, Film Make-up, Digital Editing, Graphic Design, Motion Graphics(3D Animation), Art Direction, Camera, Light & Sound Technique (Cinematography), Still Photography, TV Presentation and Producing.

Rex-Anthony was also the Executive Director of Heritage Immigration Services, which is an immigration consulting and advisory agency that helps its clients to acquire residency, work and related permits in a number of countries.

Rex has done a lot by building the capacity of many filmmakers in the country and many are shcoked and saddden by his demise.
