GHANA- Monday, July 20, 2020,/ https://africanpostonline.com/ Nigerian entrepreneur, Izu Madubueze allegedly commits suicide over rape accusations. The accusation was levelled by one Naichi Anese, a social media influencer who released a list of alleged rapists, Izu’s name inclusive.
“It was revealed that Izu reached out to Nani and asked to know who he raped but she didn’t have a good answer, instead she claimed the accuser wanted to remain anonymous. She later said the alleged victim said it was a “non-physical sexual assault,” as reported by Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji reports.
All attempts by Izu to prove his innocence proved futile as Nani would not listen to him. In screenshots circulating on Twitter, Izu appeared clueless about who the said victim was and tried to reach out to her but to no avail.
Izu left a note apologizing to anyone he has harassed in the past and called out to her to show herself so he “make amends and do better overall”.
His final tweet on Friday, July 17, 2020, said: “if you’re reading this, I’m dead lol”.
Izu committed suicide and Nani’s social media account has since been deactivated after it was made viral. Previous chats between the two partied allegedly shows that Nani showed interest in Izu but was turned down.
Social media has been turned into a frenzy as people are demanding Justice for Izu with the hashtag JusticeforIZU. Others are calling for the prosection of Nani and others who falsely accuse men of rape.
Accusing someone falsely for rape is another way of ruining them, killing them, and destroying them.
Men especially have been accused of rape and some are unable to defend themselves which eventually lead to the to jail. The issue of men being accused wrongly for rape has to be tackled with all seriousness to avert such situations in the case of Izu.
It is an open secret that some women take advantage of the rape situation and accused innocent men of rape to tarnish their image and destroy their future.
Some people are calling for a law to prosecute women who falsely accuse men of rape to serve as a deterrent for others. What happens to a woman who falsely accuses an innocent man of rape and spends 12 years in prison only to be released after proven innocent? Many go scot-free!
People are signing a petition to have her face the law.
